The Story

Nestled in a quiet wooded valley in Old Chatham, NY, this new home addition was a highly collaborative and rewarding project. Designed by architect Isabelle Autones and furnished by Natura Interiors, the space was envisioned as a peaceful retreat for music, intimate gatherings, and quiet moments by the fire. With a minimal yet Berkshire-inspired sensibility, we layered wood textures, cozy fabrics, and a warm, neutral palette to create a grounded, serene atmosphere. Highlights include a custom silver-gray wool rug, a hand-crafted shaker-style table with spindle chairs, and natural linen slipcovered sofas. Artwork from our client’s collection adds vibrancy and depth. We worked closely with the architect and R&D Custom Carpentry to design a white oak dressing room with integrated lighting—understated and finely detailed. Subtle lighting by David Clinard Studio and expert construction by Wallace Architecture, Bill Stratton Building, and Nick Ford brought the design to life. The result is a space that feels soulful, inviting, and deeply personal.
